What a remarkable week it has been for us at Atabey & Co.! As we gather our thoughts and bask in the afterglow of success, I wanted to take a moment to reflect with you all about the incredible achievements of our network at the 2024 Signal Awards. It’s times like these that remind us why we do what we do and just how impactful our voices can be.
This year, the Signal Awards recognized outstanding podcasts across various categories, and I’m thrilled to announce that Atabey & Co. secured not one, not two, but three awards, showcasing the diversity and richness of the talent within our network:
Silver for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Yvette Martinez-Vu’s "Grad School Femtoring" continues to be a beacon of light, offering invaluable guidance and insights into the academic challenges faced by underrepresented scholars.
Bronze and Listener’s Choice for Artists & Designers Shaping Culture: Ayana Major Bey’s "The Artist Pivot Podcast" beautifully explores the intersections of art and cultural transformation, proving that every pivot is a story worth telling.
Bronze for True Crime: Joy Scaglione’s "Bite-Sized Crime" delivers gripping narratives with meticulous care, highlighting lesser-known true crime stories that captivate and educate.
Each of these shows not only enriches our network but also furthers our mission to elevate the voices of women of color, making their stories accessible, relatable, and, above all, celebrated on global platforms.
These accolades are not just awards; they are affirmations of the values we cherish and strive to promote through every show on our network, the podcasts we produce and through the WOC Podcasters community. They signify a collective victory for our community and underscore the importance of diversity in podcasting—both in the voices we hear and the stories they tell.
I invite you to listen to these award-winning shows if you haven’t already. Each episode is a testament to the creativity, dedication, and resilience of our incredible creators. And if you find yourself moved, inspired, or simply entertained, consider subscribing and following their journeys.
Your support helps keep these stories alive and ensures that voices from underrepresented communities continue to be heard far and wide.
And as a reminder, voting for the Anthem Community Voice Award closes tomorrow, October 31st. We're currently in second place and would love your support in helping to push us to the win.
