I’m back from sunny Puerto Rico after a much-needed vacation. We’re travelers in my household, so pretty much from now through September, you can find me somewhere that’s not my house. Approximately 50% of podcasts reach five or more episodes, according to recent data from the Podcast Index. So if you’ve made it past 5, you’re already ahead of the game.
At this year's National Association of Broadcasters Show in Las Vegas, audio professionals convened to examine the evolving landscape of advertising. John Rosso, President and CEO of Triton Digital, highlighted that podcasting is currently setting the pace for advertising rates, followed by streaming, which is commonly bundled in sales offers. Digiday reports that while advertising is experiencing growth, there's a cautious optimism amidst concerns over potential challenges that could impact the industry.
JAR Audio has launched its second annual Pilot Competition for Women in Podcasting. The competition offers women podcasters the opportunity to have their pilot episode produced by JAR Audio, while they retain full intellectual property rights. Submissions are due May 1st.
Captivate, a podcast hosting service, has recently enhanced its embedded player by adding support for chapters, complete with options for images and URLs.
