The podcasting world is surprisingly small when it comes to creators of color. I had the pleasure of meeting founder Corey when I reached out to him last year about collaborating with BA. Since then, I’ve gotten to meet him in person and had lots of Zoom calls on how BA , WOC Podcasters, and the Black Podcasters Association (BPA) can work together in the podcasting space. I’m even a writer on
! Corey is doing an amazing job of creating a space for Black podcasters.About Black Podcasters Association
The mission of BPA is to bring together a diverse group of black podcast creatives and professionals who are committed to reshaping the podcasting landscape while striving to create a foundation that fully supports their creative voices, respects their brands, and celebrates their unique voices. It’s an environment of trust, respect, and collaboration, where Black creators can pool their creative talents and share their stories, ideas, and experiences with the world.
The Community
BPA fosters an environment where members can unleash their creativity freely, eliminating the need to "code-switch" or justify their "blackness" to others. It's a community where podcasters can truly feel at home and flourish.
Their goal is to shift from the constant battle for acceptance and fairness, choosing instead to carve their own path and define their own rules within this dynamic industry. BPA aims to offer a platform where our members can reap the rewards of their hard work without having to make any concessions.
Being a member of BPA comes with some pretty amazing benefits including:
Specially curated courses, workshops, and events aimed at setting you up for success and transforming your podcast.
Dedicated community spaces that provide the perfect setting for connection, collaboration, learning, and fun with fellow members.
Exclusive early access and priority opportunities for announcements, events, and more before they're unveiled to the wider public.
Convenient access to our community through a dedicated iOS/Android app.
Membership in the BPA Book Club.
Engaging Live Streams & Panel Discussions, plus a whole lot more.
